  • Bond on Bonnet Lips & Spoiler Lips

This process is exactly the same for any bonnet lip and our bond on spoilers. We always suggest using a small amount of polyurethane adhesive sealer, such as Tigerseal, to bond the part in place, (this is not supplied, but easily acquired). Step 1. Preparing the area. You will need to remove any wax and debris that will have built up over time on the mounting area. We use a 3M Perfect-it Fast cutting compound to do this, any high cut polish will do. Use a bit of elbow grease to make sure you get through all the dirt. Step 2. Positioning the part. Hold the part in place (the back of the bonnet lip is shaped to fit the bonnet and any spoiler lip only fits in one position on the spoiler, just make sure it's centralised). Using a couple of small bits of masking tape, mark where the ends and edges of the part will be, this will help you position the part correctly when installing it. Step 3. Attaching it. Now you have the masking tape marking where the part positions, it's time to pop a small amount of the adhesive on the part. Make sure not to over do it, as the adhesive will spill out the sides of the part and it's tricky to clean up. Step 4. Making sure it adheres. This is probably the most important part. Using as much masking tape as necessary, ensure the part is taped down nice and flat to your vehicle. Leave the masking tape on and avoid using your car for a good 12 hours to allow the adhesive to cure. After this time remove the masking tape and your ready to go.

  • Fitting Light Brows

We have used the Ford Fiesta Mk7 brows as an example here. These are pre-fitted with super strong 3M double sided tape. If your brows are ones where it is not possible to fit 3M tape we advise using a small amount of polyurethane adhesive, such as tigerseal. Step 1. Preparing the headlights. You will need to remove any wax and debris that will have built up over time on the mounting area. We use a 3M Perfect-it Fast cutting compound to do this, any high cut polish will do. Use a bit of elbow grease to make sure you get through all the dirt. Step 2. Gaining access. On the Mk7 Fiesta you will need to remove the 4 black plastic push clips that hold the grill section of the bumper in place. This is easily done using a paint scraper, remove the central piece of each clip first then the main part. Step 3. Fitting the light brows. Remove the backing off the 3M double sided tape, slip the front section of the light brow down between the grill and the headlight and stick the rest of the part down to the headlight. Ensure it is stuck properly by apply a good amount of pressure. Step 4. Finishing the job. Once you have both the light brows in place refit the clips along the top of your grill in reverse of Step 2 and the jobs done. If your headlights require bonding on then follow the steps to clean the headlight, Using a couple of small bits of masking tape, mark where the ends and edges of the part will be, this will help you position the part correctly when installing it. Now you have the masking tape marking where the part positions, it's time to pop a small amount of the adhesive on the part. Make sure not to over do it as the adhesive will spill out the sides of the part and it's tricky to clean up. Using as much masking tape as necessary ensure the part is taped down nice and flat to your vehicle. Leave the masking tape on and avoid using your car for a good 12 hours to allow the adhesive to cure. After this time remove the masking tape and your ready to go.

  • Fitting a Splitter

All of our products have been designed to make the fitment as easy as possible. Some are easier to fit than others, we have tried and tested all our products for fitment. Some cars will need the under tray to be removed, some you will need to remove bolts / screws from the bottom of your bumper, sometimes there is no need to remove anything. please check you have all the relevant tools before starting the job. Checking your delivery. When you receive your splitter it will be pre-drilled and include the fitting kit required, usually in a green sealed bag in the end of the polythene tubing. Make sure everything is there and familiarise yourself with the contents. Tools Required, Now you need to get your tools together, you will need the following:- 1x Trolley Jack 2x Axle Stands 4x Clamps 1x Drill (cordless if possible) 1x 3mm Drill Bit 1x 7mm Drill Bit 1x 10mm Spanner 1x Set of Allen keys T30 Torx bit. (If you don’t have any clamps then just ask a friend to assist with lining the splitter up and holding it in place.) Step One - Jacking Firstly you need to get the front end of your car up in the air to gain access to the bottom of your bumper. We are lucky enough to have the use of a set of mechanics ramps but if you’re not that lucky then jack and prop the front up on a set of axle stands and ensure its safe to continue. Step Two - Clamping the splitter in place We normally use 2 small spring clamps either side to hold the splitter in place. If you don’t have any of these an extra pair of hands will do just as well. Once the splitter is clamped / held in place make sure you are happy that it is central. All our splitters are designed and shaped to the specific car so will only really fit in one place. The important part here is to make sure the back edge of each end of the splitter is in line with the wheel arch section of the bumper. Step Three - Drilling Once you are happy that the splitter is in the correct place it’s time to start drilling the holes.. As we said earlier all the holes are predrilled in the majority of our splitters, so you can use these as a guide where to drill. Now it’s up to you if you want to use a marker pen to mark where the holes need to be, remove the splitter, drill the holes then re clamp the splitter in place. Or do as we do and drill through the hole in the splitter. Take care to ensure the splitter doesn’t move during this process. Use the 3mm drill initially, you can then see where these drill holes fall and it will give you an idea if the area is accessible or not, which is where the large torx screws will be placed, and if it is or there are any obstructions it will highlight which fixings will go in which position. Drill all position that can be accessed out to 7mm. Step Four - Bolting Now all the holes are drilled you can start bolting the splitter in place. The bolts go up from the underside of the splitter, through the splitter, through the bumper, then a washer on top, then the Nyloc Nut. There is no requirement for a washer underneath the splitter as the bolts have one built in. Tighten these by hand only, do NOT use a drill to tighten them as this will cause the stainless bolt to abrade with the stainless nut and lock them together. Any positions Step Five - Admiring your handy work Now your splitter is all fitted you need to remove your car from the axle stands, being just as careful as in Step 1 and see the fruit of your labour.

  • Fitting Side Skirt Splitters

The majority of our side skirt splitters come with torx screws to hold them in place. If your skirts come with nuts and bolts follow the same process as you would to fit a front splitter. We always advise using a small amount of polyurethane adhesive when fitting skirts with our Torx screws over the mounting holes between the part and the vehicle, to help hold them in place. Step 1. Gain safe access to the underside of your vehicle. Step 2. Check the fitment against your vehicle, hold the part in place and make sure you are happy with the positioning. whilst in position, with a 3mm drill bit drill pilot holes through the skirt mounting holes into the vehicle. Step 3. Add the adhesive to the product over the mounting holes, hold the part in the correct position, you might need an extra pair of hands to help you with this. The with the Torx screws provided screw them into the vehicle being careful not to over tighten. Step 4. Repeat the process for the otherside and job done.

  • Bolt on Spoiler Lips

Bolt on spoiler lips from our ally aero range are a simple fit, all screw attachments are provided. Simply position the spoiler lip in place, mark where the fixing will go and drill these positions with a small pilot hole. Some spoiler lips are easier to attach with the OEM spoiler removed, but most you can do in place. Then with the fixings provided, attach the part in place, being careful not to over tighten.
