    FAQS

Please see below some frequently asked questions regarding our 3D printing and scanning services:

    • What can you scan?

The simple answer is anything, the surface may need some prep work Eg. using a developer spray on any dark gloss finishes, reflective services or glass. Otherwise it's just a case of positioning our targets and starting the scan.

    • What are the specifications of your scanner?

Here's a more detailed look at its specifications: Key Features and Specifications: Accuracy: Up to 0.030 mm. Resolution: 0.050 mm. Scan Area: 275 x 250 mm. Measurement Rate: 480,000 measurements per second. Light Source: 7 blue laser crosses. Part Size Range: 0.1 to 4 meters. Weight: 0.85 kg (1.9 lbs). Dimensions: 77 x 122 x 294 mm (3.0 x 4.8 x 11.6 in). Volumetric Accuracy: 0.020 ± 0.060 mm/m (can be improved to 0.020 ± 0.015 mm/m with MaxSHOT Next Elite). Measurement Capabilities: Pin: 0.100 mm Hole: 1.50 mm Step: 0.30 mm Wall: 0.75 mm

    • What can you 3D print?

      We have 4 3D printers here, A Raise 3D Pro3 Plus (FFF) which can print in a range of materials from prototyping to production end use. With a print volume of 605mm H, 300mm W, 300mm D. 2 x Sindoh 3DWOX 7X (FDM) with build volumes of 450mm H x 380mm W x 390mm D Along with a Formlabs Fuse 1 (SLS) Printer with a build area of 300mm H, 165mm W, 165mm D. with a 110micron layer resolution. able to print in Nylon 12, Nylon 12 GF and Nylon 11.

    • What do you do if my print doesn't fit in your printer?

No problem at all, we print lots of parts larger than our printers maximum volumes, we simply slice the part into sections for the print then glue it back together after. If we're using the SLS printer we have some very good 'click' together methods we can add to your design so it can easily be assembled and hold together.
